Hopefully someone within the club (who has the authority to do so) will, at the very least, donate the mascot fee to the Bobby Moore fund or other suitable cause.

What a lovely, albeit bittersweet, story.
I hope you and your grandson have a brilliant day with him getting to walk out with Anderson and then watching the Hammers take three points.
No surprise to hear Sir Trev getting involved and being the true legend that he is.

Thanks for sharing, I happened to be chopping onions at the same time, so my eyes were watering for that reason and for that reason only.
Class by Trev and his wife. He also turned up at a charity run for Little Havens hospice in memory of my brother - and was more than happy to have photos with the family (he was also my brother's favourite player). Geoff Pike came another year.
Nice work from Cottee and Gale as well.

I didn't write this to raise money (My Daughter has done a fair bit of that - two very successful Charity Balls being major fundraisers.) However, if you and any others would like to donate I am sure both charities would welcome anything sent to them.
The Js Hospice which is based in and around Chelmsford has recently joined the Havens Hospice Group. It was/still is a Hospice which specialises in the care of young people 16 -40. For my son-in-law, this was mainly through home care.

The St Luke's Hospice based in Basildon provided superb end of life care for him when home care was no longer feasible and they provided excellent counselling to both my Daughter, her Mother-in-Law and my Grandson.

Appreciate that. It's just me.
This is one of the few times I get to chose where money I earn can directly be used to help things I believe in; a chance denied to me by the Treasury.
Both charities though, demand far more information than needed to make a donation. They seemed to both accept gibberish personal entries though, so hopefully they won't pester me with spam.

East Hammer from your description I know exactly where you both sit and see you at most games. My two kids think your grandson is great but are two self conscious to match him for noise.

Thanks to everyone for their kind comments and good wishes. And a special thank you to Huffers, the photos have arrived and they are excellent. Hopefully, my grandson gets the opportunity to get them signed on the day.
All your responses have restored my belief in WHO as a place to find some true hammers.
I was beginning to think that it was just full of negativity and whinging by those who know little or nothing about being West Ham, as if, eh?
